Kringle Candle was founded and is owned by the Kittredge family, who also founded Yankee Candle. Kringle Candle is the first retail partner to announce a boutique location as part of what MGM describes as its “curated shopping collection.” Also announced was a public art partnership with Springfield Museums and a child care center. The partnership with Kringle was announced by MGM in a presentation Thursday to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission in Springfield. MGM lists the project, which is set to take up 14 acres of Springfield, at $960 million.
The casino, which will be the first legal establishment of its kind in western Massachusetts, is set to open in 2018.
